1 And I said, "Listen up, leaders of Jacob, and nobles of the house of Israel! Aren't you supposed to know right from wrong?
2 But you hate the good, and love the evil. You strip the skin off (My people) and tear the flesh off their bones.
3 You eat the flesh of My people, and flay their skin from off them. You break their bones, and chop them in pieces, like stew meat for the cooking pot.
4 Then you will cry out to the I AM, but He will not hear you. He won't even look at you, after all the evil you have done.
5 This is what the I AM says about the prophets that make My people sin, that prophecy "Peace!" when they have something to sink their teeth into, but "War!" to those who don't give them food.
6 And so it will be night for you, so that you can't see anything, and darkness will cloud your "vision." The sun is setting on you and your "day" is over.
7 Then the prophets will be ashamed, and the diviners confused. Yes, they will cover their mouths because God won't answer them.
8 But truly I am full of power from the spirit of the I AM, and of judgment, and of might, to declare to Jacob his transgression, and to Israel his sin.
9 Listen to me, you leaders of Jacob, and nobles of the House of Israel, you who hate justice and twist what is right.
10 You build Jerusalem with blood and wickedness.
11 You leaders give rulings based on bribes; you priests only teach about God to those who pay you; you prophets only prophecy for pay. And yet you think that the I AM will protect you, saying, "Isn't the I AM among us? He will keep bad things from happening to us."
12 And so Zion will be plowed up like a farm field because of you, and Jerusalem will become trash heaps, and the Temple Hill will become a plot of weeds.
Even though the leaders are acting so evil, they think they will be protected just because they are descendants of Jacob, but God is removing His protection. Salvation has never been through blood-lines. It has always been through faith and obedience to God. These Israelites and Jews are relying on biology instead of God, but your biology won’t save you.
