1 Corinthians 1-Greetings from Paul

1 From Paul, who is chosen by God to be an apostle of Jesus The Anointed One, and from Sosthenes our brother,

2 To the congregation of God which is at Corinth, to those who are purified in the Anointed One, Jesus, invited to be set apart, along with everyone from everywhere who appeal to the power of Jesus the Anointed One, both our Boss and theirs.

3 I wish you undeserved favor, and peace, from God our Father, and from our Boss, Jesus the Anointed One.

Thanksgiving

4 I always thank my God for you, for the undeserved favor from God which is given to you by Jesus the Anointed One.

5 That you are enriched by Him, in all the things you say, and in all knowledge.

6 This proves what we told you about the Anointed One.

7 So that you aren't behind in any gift while waiting for the coming of our Boss, Jesus the Anointed One.

8 Who will also keep you by Him until the end, that you may be blameless in the day of our Boss, Jesus the Anointed One.

9 God, who always does what He says, has invited you to be partners with His Son, our Boss, Jesus the Anointed One.

Unity in the Church

10 Now I beg of you, brothers, in the authority of our Boss, Jesus the Anointed One, that you live in harmony together, and that you are perfectly united in the same purpose and and same message.

"Unity of Faith (or purpose) does not mean unity of expression" -Ravi Zacharias.

All true Christian denominations have the purpose of worshiping Jesus and bringing the lost to Him. The rest are not important issues.

11 Because I have heard from Chloe's household, that you all are arguing.

12 Some of you are saying you are followers of Paul, some of Apollos, some of Cephas, some of The Anointed One.

13 Is the Anointed One divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Or were you baptized in the authority of Paul?

14 I thank God that I didn't baptize any of you, but Crispus and Gaius,

15 So that no one can say that I have baptized in my own name.

16 Oh, and I also baptized the household of Stephanas. Otherwise, I don't know whether I baptized anyone else.

17 Because the Anointed One didn't send me to baptize, but to preach the Good News, not with wise words, which would make the Cross of the Anointed One have no effect.

Christ the Wisdom and Power of God

18 Because preaching about the Cross is a foolish thing to those who are not saved, but to us who are saved it is the very power of God.

19 Because it is written, "I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent."

Isaiah 29:14 Therefore I will again confuse these people with wonder upon wonder. The wisdom of the wise will perish, and the intelligence of the intelligent will be hidden.

15 Woe to them that seek deep to hide their counsel from the I AM, and their works are in the dark, and they say, "Who sees us? and who knows us?"

20 Where is the wise? Where is the scholar? Where is the philosophers of the world? Hasn't God made the wisdom of the world look foolish?

21 Since God in His wisdom saw to it that the world would never know Him through human wisdom, He has used our foolish preaching to save those who want to believe.

22 The Jews demand signs and miracles, and the Greeks search for wisdom,

23 But we preach about the Anointed One being crucified, which makes the Jews stumble and fall, and the Greeks think it's foolishness,

24 But to those who are called by God, whether they are Jews or Greeks (non-Jews), The Anointed One is the very power to God and His wisdom.

The Foolish to Shame the Wise

25 Because the most foolish part of God is wiser than any men, and the weakest thing about God is stronger than men.

26 If you look around, brothers, you will notice that there are not many who are wordly wise, not many who are mighty, not many many noblemen, are invited by God,

27 But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to confuse the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to confuse the things that are strong.

28 And the low class things of the world, and things which are despised, has God chosen, yes, and things which are not counted as anything of importance, to bring to nothing the things that are thought important,

29 So that no human can boast in His presence.

30 But God put us into the Anointed One, Jesus. He made Jesus wisdom, and righteousness, and purification, and our payment for sin.

31 So that, just like it is written, "Anyone who brags, let him brag in the Supreme Master.

Psalm 34:2 "My soul will brag in the I AM. Let the oppressed hear and rejoice."
