Romans 8- No Condemnation in Christ

There is then, now no punishment to those who are in Christ Jesus, who don't walk by the flesh, but by the Spirit.

For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has freed me from the law of sin and death.

For what Moses's law couldn't do, because it was weakened by our fleshly desires, God, by sending His own Son in human form as a sin offering, accomplished- the end of sin's control over us.

So that the righteousness of Moses' law might be accomplished in us who don't live to please the physical body, but the Spirit of God.

For they that live to please the body care about physical things, but they that live to please God's Spirit care about the things of the Spirit.

For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.

Because the mind ruled by the flesh is fighting against God, because it is not subject to the law of God, neither, in fact, can be.

So then they that live to please the body cannot please God.

Control by the Spirit

But you are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if the Spirit of God really lives in you. Now if anyone doesn't have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His.

And if Christ is in you, though the body is still subject to death because of the curse of sin, the spirit receives life because of righteousness.

But if the same Spirit of Him that raised up Jesus from the dead lives in you, then He that raised up Christ from the dead will also bring your mortal bodies to life again by the Spirit that lives in you.

Heirs with Christ

So then, brothers, we are not bound to obey our fleshly desires anymore.

For if you live to obey fleshly desires, you will die. But if you, through the Spirit, do put to death the works of the body, ye shall live.

For all those who are led by the Spirit of God, are the sons of God.

Because you haven't put into slavery to fear, but you have been adopted by God's Spirit, so we can call out "Daddy Father!"

God's Spirit joins himself to our spirits to declare that we are God's children.

And if we are children, then we are heirs of God, and co-heirs with Christ. If we share His suffering, we will also share His glory.

Future Glory

For I know that the things we suffer right now are not comparable to the glory which He will reveal to us later.

All of creation waits eagerly for the revealing (delivering, freeing) of the children of God.

For the creation was put under the curse, lost its purpose, not because it wanted to be that way, but because of Him who has also given hope,

Because the creation itself also will be delivered from the slavery of decay to the same glorious liberty of the children of God.

For we know that the whole creation groans and works in pain together even until now.

And not just the creation, but us too, who have God's Spirit as our first gift from Him, also groan in our hearts, waiting for the day we have full rights as His children, including the new bodies He has promised us.

We were given this hope when we were saved. Now, if we already have something, we don't need to hope for it.

But if we are hoping for it, we don't yet have it, so we are patiently waiting for it.

In the same way, the spirit also helps our weaknesses because we don't know what we should pray for like we should, but our spirit pleads for us with groans that words can't express.

And He who already knows what is in our hearts, knows what our spirit is saying, because it  pleads for us who are pure according to the will of God.

God Works In All Things

And we know that God works all things together for good for those who love Him, for those who are the called according to His purpose.

Because God established boundaries for all He knew beforehand would choose Him, to make them share the same [inner essence, identity, behavior, essential nature] as His Son, so that Christ would be the firstborn among many brothers.

What's more, whoever He pre-decided to be made into Christ's [inner essence, identity, behavior, essential nature], He also invited to Him. And whoever He invited, He made right with Him. And whoever He made right with Him, He gave His glory to.

What shall we say, then, to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?

Since He didn't even spare His own Son, but gave Him up for us all, won't He also give us everything else?

Who can accuse those who have chosen God of any sin? It is God who makes us right with Him.

Who can condemn us? It is Christ who died, rose from the dead, and is even at the right hand of God, who also pleads for us.

More than Conquerors

Can anything remove us from the love of Christ? Will troubles, or difficulties, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or war?

Just like it is written, "For Thy sake we face death all day long. We are being slaughtered like sheep."

No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us.

For I am convinced that nothing can separate us from God's love; not death, nor life, nor spiritual beings, nor government authorities, nor physical force, nor anything in the present, nor the future,

Nothing from outer space to the bottom of the ocean, nor anything in the whole universe, can separate us from the love of God, which is shown us through Christ Jesus our Boss.
