Exodus 39- The Ephod

A recount of the items God told Moses to have made.

They made cloths for the service of the Holy Place from blue, purple, and scarlet, as well as the holy garments for Aaron, just like the I AM had commanded Moses.

And he made the sleeveless tunic of fine twined linen embroidered with gold, blue, purple, and scarlet threads

They beat the gold into thin plates, and cut it into wires, to work it in the fine linen, with blue, purple, and scarlet threads, and in with skillful work.

They made shoulderpieces for it, to fasten it together. It was fastened by the two edges.

And the belt of his tunic was made of the same materials; fine twined linen embroidered with gold, blue, purple, and scarlet threads, just like the I AM had commanded Moses.

And they shaped onyx stones set in settings of
gold, engraven like fine jewelry, with the names of the children of Israel.

And he put them on the shoulders of the tunic as stones of memorial to the children of Israel, just like the I AM commanded Moses.

Moses correctly told the workmen what God told them to do. The workmen followed his directions.

The Breastpiece

And he made the breastplate of skillful work, just like the work of the tunic, using fine twined linen embroidered with gold, blue, purple, and scarlet threads

It was about 8 inches square. They doubled the material.

And they set in it four rows of stones: the first row was a sardius, a topaz, and a carbuncle: this was the first row.

And the second row, an emerald, a sapphire, and a diamond.

And the third row, a ligure, an agate, and an amethyst.

And the fourth row, a beryl, an onyx, and a jasper: they were enclosed in settings of gold in their enclosing.

And the stones were engraved with the names of the children of Israel, twelve names, like the engravings of a signet ring, every one with his name, according to the twelve tribes.

And they made on the breastplate chains at the ends, of braided work of pure gold.

And they made two settings of gold, and two gold rings, and put the two rings in the two ends of the breastplate.

And they put the two braided chains of gold in the two rings on the ends of the breastplate.

And the two ends of the two braided chains they fastened in the two settings, and put them on the shoulderpieces on the front of the tunic.

And they made two rings of gold, and put them on the two ends of the breastplate, on its inside border.

And they made two more golden rings, and put them on the two sides of the tunic underneath, on the front, across from the other coupling, above the tunic's belt.

And they did fastened the breastplate by its rings to the rings of the tunic with a lace of blue, so it was above the belt, so that the breastplate was held right next to the tunic, just as the I AM commanded Moses.

Additional Priestly Garments

And he made the robe of the tunic of woven work, all of blue.

And there was an hole in the middle of the robe, like the hole of a coat of mail, with a band round about the hole, so that it wouldn't rip.

And they made  cloth pomegranates of
twined linen with blue, purple, and scarlet threads on the hems of the robe.

And they made bells of pure gold, and put them between the pomegranates on the hem of the robe.

A bell and a pomegranate, a bell and a pomegranate, all around the hem of the robe worn to minister in, just as the I AM commanded Moses.

And they made coats of fine linen of woven work for Aaron, and for his sons,

And a turban and caps of fine linen, and linen underware,

And a belt of fine twined linen with blue, purple, and scarlet embroidery, just as the I AM commanded Moses.

And they made the plate of the holy crown of pure gold, and engraved on it , like the engravings of fine jewelry, "HOLINESS TO THE I AM."

And they it with a cord of blue to the turban, just as the I AM had commanded Moses.

Moses Approves the Work

This is how all the work of the Tabernacle of the Tent of the Congregation was finished. The children of Israel did exactly what the I AM had commanded Moses.

And they brought the Tabernacle to Moses, the tent, and all its furniture, clasps, boards, bars, and pillars, and bases,

And the covering of rams' skins dyed red, and the covering of goat skin leather, and the veil of the covering,

The Ark of the Testimony, and its staves, and the mercy seat,

The table, and all its dishes, and the showbread,

The pure gold candlestick, with its lamps, even with the lamps to be set in order, and all its tools, and the oil for light,

And the golden altar, the anointing oil, the sweet incense, and the hanging for the Tabernacle door,

The bronze altar, and its grate of brass, staves, and all its tools; the basin and its pedestal,

The court hangings, pillars, and bases, and the hanging for the court gate, its cords, and tent pegs, and all the tools for the service of the Tabernacle, for the Tent of the Congregation,

The cloths for service used in service in the holy place, and the holy garments for Aaron the priest, and his sons' garments, to minister in the priest's office.

Everything that the I AM had commanded Moses, the children of Israel did.

And Moses looked at all the work, and, wow! they had done just like the I AM had commanded. So Moses blessed them.

Imagine that! A people who actually did what God told them to do!
