1 The I AM spoke to Moses and Aaron, saying,
2 If someone has a swelling, rash, or discolored skin, and it may be leprosy, he must go to Aaron the priest, or one of his sons that are priests.
3 The priest will look at the place on the skin, and if the hair in that spot is turned white, and the spot looks deeper than the skin, it is a plague of leprosy, so the priest will declare him to be unclean.
4 But if the spot is white and only on the skin, and not below it, and the hair in it isn't white, then the priest will isolate him for a week.
5 Seven days later, the priest will look at him. If the plague looks like it hasn't spread, but is the same, then the priest will isolate him for seven more days.
6 When the priest looks at him again the seventh day, if the spot has darkened and not spread, the priest will pronounce him clean. It's just a scab. The person will wash his clothes and then be clean.
6 When the priest looks at him again the seventh day, if the spot has darkened and not spread, the priest will pronounce him clean. It's just a scab. The person will wash his clothes and then be clean.
7 But if the scab has spread in the skin, after that he has been seen by the priest for his cleansing, he must go back to be seen by the priest again,
8 And if the priest see that the scab has spread, then the priest will pronounce him unclean. It is a leprosy.
9 When the plague of leprosy is in a man, then he will be brought to the priest,
9 When the plague of leprosy is in a man, then he will be brought to the priest,
10 And the priest will look at him: and if the rising is white in the skin, and it has turned the hair white, and there be raw flesh in it,
11 It is an old leprosy in his skin, and the priest will pronounce him unclean, and will not isolate him. He is unclean.
12 If a leprosy breaks out all over the skin, and covers all the skin of him that has the plague from his head even to his foot, wherever the priest looks,
13 Then the priest, after looking carefully, if the leprosy has covered all his skin, he will pronounce him clean that has the plague. It is all turned white, so he is clean.
14 But when raw flesh appears on him, he will be unclean.
15 And the priest will see the raw flesh, and pronounce him to be unclean, because the raw flesh is a leprosy.
16 Or if the raw flesh turns white, he will come to the priest,
17 And the priest will look at him, and if the plague really has turned white, then the priest will pronounce him clean that has the plague.
18 If someone has a boil that has healed up,
18 If someone has a boil that has healed up,
19 And in the place of the boil there is a white swelling, or a bright, reddish-white spot, and it is shown to the priest,
20 And if, when the priest looks at it, the spot is lower than the skin, and the hair in it has turned white, the priest will pronounce him unclean. It is a plague of leprosy broken out of the boil.
21 But if the priest looks at it, and there are no white hairs in it, and if it isn't lower than the skin, but is a bit darker, then the priest will shut him up for seven days.
22 And if it spreads very much in the skin, then the priest will pronounce him unclean. It is a plague.
23 But if the bright spot doesn't grow or spread, it is a burning boil, and the priest will pronounce him clean.
24 If someone gets burned, and the flesh turns white or reddish-white,
25 Then the priest will look at it, and if the hair in the bright spot has turned white, and it looks deeper than the skin, it is a leprosy that has broken out in the burn. And so the priest will pronounce him unclean. It is the plague of leprosy.
26 But if the priest look at it, and there is no white hair in the bright spot, and it isn't lower than the other skin, but is somewhat dark, then the priest will shut him up for seven days:
27 And the priest will look at him on the seventh day, and if it has spread very much in the skin, then the priest will pronounce him unclean. It is the plague of leprosy.
28 But if the bright spot stays in its place, and doesn't spread in the skin, but it is somewhat dark, it is just the burn rising a bit, and the priest will pronounce him clean, because it's just that the burn is inflamed.
29 If anyone have a plague on their head or beard,
30 Then the priest will look at it and if it looks deeper than the skin, and there is a thin, yellow hair in it, then the priest will pronounce them unclean. It is a dry scall, even a leprosy on the head or beard.
31 And if the priest looks at the plague of the scall, and it does not look deeper than the skin, and there is no black hair in it, then the priest will shut up him that has the plague of the scall for seven days.
32 And in the seventh day the priest will look at the plague, and if it hasn't spread, and there isn't a yellow hair, and the scall doesn't look deeper than the skin,
33 He will shave everything on his head but the scall. Then he will be isolated for seven more days.
34 After seven days the priest will look at the scall. If it hasn't spread or gotten deeper in the skin, then the priest will pronounce him clean. He will wash his clothes, and be clean.
35 But if the scall spreads much in the skin after his cleansing,
36 Then the priest will look at him, and if it really has spread in the skin, the priest doesn't need to look for yellow hair. He is unclean.
37 But if the scall doesn't look like it has spread, and black hair has grown up in it, the scall is healed, so he is clean, and the priest will pronounce him clean.
38 If anyone has a white, bright spot on their skin,
39 The priest will look at it, and if it is darkish white, then it is a freckled spot that has grown on the skin. He is clean.
40 And the man whose hair is fallen off his head, he is bald, but is he clean.
41 And if the hair has fallen off the part of his head towards his face, he is forehead-bald, but still clean.
42 And if the bald head, or forehead, has a white reddish sore, it is a leprosy sprung up in his bald head, or forehead.
43 Then the priest will look at it, and if the raised sore is white-reddish in his bald head, or forehead, as the leprosy appears in the skin,
44 He has leprosy. He is unclean. The priest will declare him completely unclean. His plague is in his head.
45 The person who has been declared a leper must tear his clothes and take everything off his head, and cover his upper lip, and yell "Unclean, unclean."
By doing this, everyone would know to not get near them when they needed to go to town to buy food. This would drastically slow down the spread of leprosy, which is highly contagious.
46 For the whole time he has the plague of leprosy, he is unclean and must live alone, outside the camp.
48 Whether the plague is in the warp, or woof, or if it is made of leather,
The "warp" is the threads on a weaving loom that go to and from the weaver. the woof (or weft) are the ones that go from side to side.
49 If the plague is greenish or reddish in the clothes or skin, whether it is in the warp the woof, it is a plague of leprosy, and must be shown to the priest,
50 And the priest will look at the plague, and shut up the cloth that has the plague for seven days.
51 He will look at it on the seventh day. If the plague has spread in the cloth, either in the warp or woof, or in leather, or in any work that is made of leather, the plague is a fretting leprosy. It is unclean.
52 The priest will then burn that cloth, whether warp or woof, made of wool or linen, or leather, that has the plague in it, because it is a fretting leprosy. It must be burnt in the fire.
53 But if the plague hasn't spread when the priest looks at the piece of clothing,
54 Then he will command that they wash the thing that has the plague, and he will shut it up for seven more days.
55 When the priest looks at it again, after it has been washed, if the plague hasn't changed its color, and it hasn't spread, the cloth is unclean. You must burn it up in the fire. It is an inward fret, whether the plague is on the inside or outside of the cloth.
56 And if the priest sees that the plague is somewhat darker after the washing, then he will tear it out of the clothes, skin, warp, or woof.
57 It reappears the clothes, either in the warp, or the woof, or in any thing of skin, it is a spreading plague. Burn it up with fire.
58 If the plague is gone from the clothes of any material after is washed, than wash it again and it is clean.
59 These are the laws about the plague of leprosy in clothes of any material, how you will know if it is clean or unclean.

23 But if the bright spot doesn't grow or spread, it is a burning boil, and the priest will pronounce him clean.
