Leviticus 9- The First Offerings of Aaron

It happened on the eighth day that Moses called Aaron and his sons, and the elders of Israel.

And he said, "Aaron, take a young calf for a sin offering, and a faultless ram for a burnt offering, and offer them before the I AM.

"And thou will speak to the Israelites saying, 'Take a goat kid for a sin offering, and a calf and a lamb, both less than a year old, all of them faultless, for a burnt offering.

"Also a bull calf and a ram for peace offerings, to sacrifice before the I AM, and a grain offering mixed with oil, because today the I AM will appear to you."

And they brought what Moses had commanded to the Tabernacle of the Congregation, and the whole congregation came near and stood before the I AM.

And Moses said, "This is what the I AM commands that you should do, and the glory of the I AM will appear to you."

And Moses said to Aaron, "Go to the altar, and offer thy sin offering, and thy burnt offering, and make a sin-payment for thyself, and for the people, and offer the offering for the people, and make a sin-payment for them, just like the I AM commanded."

The Sin Offering

So Aaron went to the altar, and killed the calf of the sin offering, which was for himself.

And Aaron's sons brought the blood to him, and he dipped his finger in the blood, and put it on the horns of the altar, and poured out the rest of the blood at the bottom of the altar.

But the fat, and the kidneys, and the gallbladder of the sin offering, he burnt up on the altar, just like the I AM commanded Moses.

And the meat and the hide he burnt with fire outside the camp.

The Burnt Offering

And he killed the burnt offering, and his sons presented the blood to him, which he sprinkled all around on the altar.

And they brought the burnt offering to him, with all its pieces, including the head, and he burnt them on the altar.

And he washed the inner parts and the legs, and burnt them on the burnt offering on the altar.

The Offerings for the People

And he brought the people's offering, and took the goat, which was the sin offering for the people, and killed it, and offered it for sin, just like the first offering.

And he brought the burnt offering, and offered it just like he was commanded.

And he brought the grain offering, and took a handful of it, and burned it on the altar, beside the morning's burnt sacrifice.

He also killed the bull calf and the ram for a sacrifice of peace offerings, which was for the people, and Aaron's sons presented him with the blood, which he sprinkled all around the altar,

And the fat from the bull calf and the ram, the rump, and which covers the inwards, as well as the kidneys, and the gallbladder,

And they put the fat on the breasts, and burned them on the altar.

And the breasts and the right shoulder Aaron waved for a wave offering before the I AM, just like Moses commanded.

And Aaron lifted up his hand toward the people, and blessed them, and came down from offering of the sin offering, and the burnt offering, and peace offerings.

Moses and Aaron Bless the People

And Moses and Aaron went into the Tabernacle of the Congregation, and came out, and blessed the people, and the glory of the I AM appeared to all the people.

And there came a fire out from before the I AM, and burned up all of the burnt offering and the fat offering that were on the altar, which, when all the people saw, they shouted, and fell on their faces.
