Leviticus 8-Moses Consecrates Aaron and his Sons

And the I Am spoke to Moses, saying,

Take Aaron and his sons with him, and the garments, and the anointing oil, and a bull calf for the sin offering, and two rams, and a basket of unleavened bread,

And gather all the congregation together to the door of the Tabernacle of the Congregation.

And Moses did as the I AM commanded him. The assembly was gathered together to the door of the Tabernacle of the Congregation.

And Moses said to the congregation, "This is what the I AM has commanded us to do."

And Moses brought Aaron and his sons, and washed them with water.

And he put on him the priest's shirt and robe, wrapped the belt around his waist, put on the holy vest, and fastened it with the finely woven belt.

And he put the breastplate on him, and put the Urim and Thummim in the breastplate.

And he put the turban on his head, and on the front of the turban he put the golden plate, the holy crown, just like the I AM commanded Moses.

And Moses took the anointing oil, and anointed the tabernacle and all that was in it, and sanctified them.

And he sprinkled some of it on the altar seven times, and anointed the altar and all it's dishes, both the laver and his foot, to sanctify them.

And he poured the anointing oil on Aaron's head, and anointed him, to sanctify him.

And Moses brought Aaron's sons, and put coats upon them, and dressed them with belts, and put caps on them, just like the I AM had commanded Moses.

The Priests' Sin Offering

And he brought the bull calf for the sin offering, and Aaron and his sons laid their hands on its head.

And he killed it, and Moses took the blood, and put it on the horns of the altar all around with his finger, and purified the altar, and poured the blood at the bottom of the altar, and sanctified it, to make reconciliation on it.

And he took all the fat that was on the inwards, and the gallbladder above the liver, and the two kidneys, and their fat, and Moses burned it on the altar.

But the bull calf, its hide, its flesh, and its dung, he burnt with fire outside the camp, just like the I AM had commanded Moses.

The Priests' Burnt Offering

And he brought the ram for the burnt offering, and Aaron and his sons laid their hands on its head.

And Aaron killed it, and Moses sprinkled the blood all around the altar.

And he cut the ram into pieces, and Moses burnt the head, the pieces, and the fat.

And he washed the inwards and the legs in water, and Moses burnt the whole ram on the altar. It was a burnt sacrifice for a sweet scent, and an offering made by fire to the I AM, just like the I Am had commanded Moses.

The Ram of Dedication

And he brought the other ram, the ram of dedication, and Aaron and his sons laid their hands on the head of that ram.

And he killed it, and Moses took some of its blood, and put it on the tip of Aaron's right ear, the thumb of his right hand, and the great toe of his right foot.

And he brought Aaron's sons, and Moses put some of the blood on the tip of their right ear, the thumbs of their right hands, and the great toes of their right feet. And Moses sprinkled the rest of the blood around the altar.

And he took the fat, and the rump, and all the fat that was on the inwards, and the gallbladder which is above the liver, and the two kidneys, and their fat, and the right shoulder,

And out of the basket of unleavened bread, that was before the I AM, he took one unleavened cake, and a cake of oiled bread, and one wafer, and put them on the fat and the right shoulder.

And he put it all in Aaron's and his his sons' hands, and waved them for a wave offering before the I AM.

And Moses took them out of their hands, and burnt them on the altar on the burnt offering. They were dedicated to be a sweet scent offering made by fire to the I AM.

And Moses took the breast, and waved it for a wave offering before the I AM, because the ram of dedication was his, just like the I AM had commanded.

And Moses took some of the anointing oil, and the blood which was on the altar, and sprinkled it on Aaron, his clothes, his sons, and their clothes and sanctified them all.

And Moses said to Aaron and his sons, "Boil the meat at the door of the Tabernacle of the Congregation, and eat there it with the bread that is in the basket of dedication, like I told you to.

"And anything that is left over of the meat or bread burn up with fire.

"Don't go out of the the door of the Tabernacle of the Congregation for seven days, until the days of your dedication are at an end. He will dedicate you for for seven days.

"Just like the I AM has commanded you to do, do to make you pure.

And so, live at the door of the Tabernacle of the Congregation day and night for seven days, and keep the commandment of the I AM, so that you don't die, because this is what I am commanded."

So Aaron and his sons did all the things that the I AM commanded through Moses.
